| Mercedes Confirms CLA Shooting Brake for 2015 Launch Posted: 05 Jul 2014 04:23 PM PDT  The fifth member of Mercedes' front-wheel drive compact family has been officially confirmed, and it's the CLA Shooting Brake. Obviously, the car wasn't exactly a secret, but Mercedes announced that the model will go on sale early 2015, publicly admitting for the first time that it is producing the estate version of the CLA. It's not necessarily pretty, but then again, neither was the Toyota iQ-based Cygnet… However, it would have definitely made a bigger splash among car reviewers who, generally speaking, completely ignored the actual Aston Martin Cygnet that did get built. Lotus doesn't use any unusually-threaded bolts that need special tooling, and the job of modifying can be tackled at home, with a little bit of mechanical know-how.
