Who knows if these official 2015 Audi TT sketches were leaked or…cough, cough….if a certain UK publication is all too cozy with the folks over at Ingolstadt in a 'friends with extended benefits' kind of way, but whatever the case, here they are. Read more »

Posted: 19 Feb 2014 04:07 PM PST

The Land Rover Defender is a vehicle that after almost half a century of service, is finally being dragged towards retirement. However, even after it will be put out of production, there will still be plenty around to break up for parts or salvage, refurbish and even modernize as extensively as you wish, kind of like what Kahn Design has done with the diesel one shown here or the more extreme (and much faster one) with the elongated front section. There are road movies, and there are road movies, and then there's Locke; an 85-minute long film that takes place entirely inside (okay, with a few exterior shots of the car thrown into the mix) a previous generation BMW X5 (E70) driven by Tom Hardy's lead (…obviously) character Ivan Locke. Posted: 19 Feb 2014 11:56 AM PST

Before we delve into the details about this head-scratching incident, just so you know, even though this is the first time I've seen the video that was brought to my attention by reader Tim B., it was recorded in April of 2012.

Rob from Superspeeders explains what happened: "Driver collides with NYC curb and breaks front wheel off of SLR Mclaren, then continues to drive for 8 blocks including two left turns to his destination. $300,000+ in damage. Goes to why exotic cars have no business in NYC."

In my eyes, Peugeot's new 108 is a more cohesive design package than its VW and Opel rivals could ever hope to be, and it bodes really well to being made wider, given spoiler and bigger wheels plus an extra dollop of power. Read more »

Land Rover Reveals Two New Defender Variants Ahead of Geneva

Posted: 19 Feb 2014 09:52 AM PST

Land Rover has announced that it will be bringing two new Defender variants to early March's Geneva motor show. As we've come to expect, these kinds of special versions/packs don't alter the vehicle in any dramatically significant way, concentrating just on changing its appearance (and perceived level of luxury, in this case, as they are only offered on cars of already high XS specification). 2014 Chevrolet SS Gets a Light Tuning Job from Ultimate Auto

Posted: 19 Feb 2014 09:13 AM PST

In the video-review of the 2014 Chevrolet SS from The Smoking Tire that we posted last night, Matt Farah expressed the opinion that, to fix the V8-powered sports saloon's main weakness, the lack of (styling) attitude, you need to get it in black and place some more aggressive wheels and rubber on all four corners. Racial profiling is really a big issue these days, and even though many governments supposedly try to eliminate judgmental behaviors based on race or ethnicity from the general population with all types of laws, their own executive branches do precisely that and more…

In a social experiment of sorts (in the loosely defined sense), the Los Angeles crew from the YouTube channel "Simple Misfits" posed the following question: "Is there a difference between a white guy trying to break into a car vs a black guy?"
