Show Us Cars with a Face Only a Mother Could Love Posted: 22 Feb 2013 07:33 PM PST Let's face it (pun intended); looks, beauty and taste are subjective concepts. What one person finds attractive, someone else will view as average or even worse, but there are some things that the majority of people will agree upon. For example, most people found the Pontiac Aztek's face aesthetically repulsive, while countless words have been written about the BMW 7-Series' (E65) droopy snout. The jury on the new Jeep Liberty-replacing , 2014 Cherokee's distinct fascia is still out, however, reading your comments here on Carscoops, the signs aren't promising for the Chrysler Group's mid-size SUV… Read more » |
2014 Jeep Cherokee Officially Revealed, Let the Face Naming Begin… Posted: 22 Feb 2013 05:03 PM PST After someone sneaked out a few pictures of the new 2014 Cherokee from Jeep's factory and unloaded them earlier today on Jalopnik, Jeep thought that it might be a good idea to release a shinier set of professionally edited and produced images to show us its new mid-size SUV at its best. If anything else, the new 2014 Cherokee that replaces the Liberty in North America and its namesake in other parts of the world, needs to look its best with that - how shall we put it delicately, awkward looking face, which we don't know if it reminds us more of a modern-day Pontiac Aztec or a catfish with some serious indigestion problems... Watch BMW Engineers Test a Group of 2-Series Coupes and Convertibles Posted: 22 Feb 2013 04:34 PM PST It's a little late to sing the jingle bells, but oh, what fun is it to slide in a rear wheel drive coupe…eh? We're singing to the tune of a group of BMW engineers who seemed to be enjoying themselves in 2-Series Coupe and Convertible prototypes in Sweden, despite the freezing weather. The cloth- and hard-top iterations of the new 2-Series will sit right below the recently announced 4-Series models as the most affordable way to get into a two-door sports car from BMW when they arrive in the market in about a year or so from now. Scoop: Kia Does Some Soul Searching for New 2014 Model Posted: 22 Feb 2013 01:25 PM PST When a vehicle is as successful as Kia's current Soul and it's time to present a replacement, an automaker's challenge is especially demanding. If you drastically alter the design, you risk alienating your customer base. Make too few changes, and you're at risk releasing a car that may be perceived as being stale and boring. Kia's solution to this tricky problem for the next generation Soul is to do a little bit of both. To explain, you'll be able to tell from the get-go that the 2014 model is a Soul. This is evident even from the camouflaged prototypes our spies nabbed testing in Europe. Read more » |
Garbage Collector Trashes Impatient Driver Posted: 22 Feb 2013 11:29 AM PST At some point, we've all been stuck behind a car leaving passengers on the road, a van unloading its goods or more frequently on city streets, a garbage truck. There's really nothing you can or should do about it other than wait, perhaps raise your voice a notch, or if you're running out of time and patience, call the police if there's problem. Getting out of your vehicle to confront a group of garbage workers, doesn't sound like a good idea and it certainly isn't one in practice… Read more » |
Chevrolet Captiva Receives a Nip & Tuck for the Geneva Auto Salon Posted: 22 Feb 2013 10:54 AM PST After seven years in the market, you would think that Chevrolet would have a successor ready for the Captiva; instead, the bow-tie brand has opted to prolong the life of its crossover with another dose of Botox, the second in three years. We only the see the rear end of the 2013 Captiva with its new LED tail lamps, angular chrome exhaust tips and a remodeled bumper, but Chevrolet says the front end also receives some styling love in the guise of "a lower bumper, a new grill mesh as well as restyled foglamps". Look closely, and you will also discover a new set of 18-inch wheels. Read more » |
Move Your Face Over Juke, Here Comes the New 2014 Jeep Cherokee Posted: 22 Feb 2013 05:13 PM PST Well Jeep, if its attention you want with your new SUV, you certainly got it, thanks to these photos published on Jalopnik. From what we understand, a Jeep-factory insider held up his (or her) camera, took a multitude of shots of a brand new model, and quickly sent the pictures over to the site's crew, who are calling this the 2014 Cherokee. We're going to assume that they learned the name from their soon-to-get in trouble source. It's a strange looking crossover/SUV on the outside, especially up front, that's for sure, but the interior does have a more conventional styling. Read more » |
Check Out the 2014 Corvette Stingray in a Very Interactive Way Posted: 22 Feb 2013 09:37 AM PST Have you had the chance to sample the new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray up, close and personal yet? If the answer is yes, then either you work for General Motors or you visited one of the following motor shows in Detroit, Chicago or Toronto. A Carscoop…s Update on the Domain Change - Tell Us If You're Having Any Problems Posted: 22 Feb 2013 06:16 AM PST Last night, we implemented a domain change switching from a "blogspot.com" address (or 'blogspot.com.au' if you're viewing the site from Australia, '.blogpspot.fr' from France etc.) to a top-level domain (with an 's', but more on that later…) that we promised a couple of weeks ago as the first part of a series of changes that we have planned for the near future. On paper, or shall we say, on webpages and support forums, the move is supposedly straightforward, but in practice, there are always unforeseen problems that you have to deal with on a case-to-case basis. The main glitch that we have been experiencing has to do with the pictures, which for some unexplained (until now) reason, appear and then disappear. We're working to fix this problem along with some other smaller issues such as the comments, as we speak. Read more » |
