| Nissan Confirms New High-Performance GT-R NISMO Edition for Next Year Posted: 25 Feb 2013 06:18 PM PST  If there's one car in Nissan's range that doesn't really need, but should have a Nismo edition for a number of reasons, the most important of which has to do with improving the sub-brand's image, it is the GT-R flagship, and today we learn that it will indeed happen. | You Won't Believe Why this GEICO Car Insurance Ad Infuriated One Million Moms Posted: 25 Feb 2013 05:50 PM PST  The Government Employees Insurance Company –you all know it as GEICO- has promoted its business through many quirky television ads that usually encompass the tagline, "15 minutes could save you 15 percent or more on car insurance", and which have starred a number of different characters, ranging from a caveman to an anthropomorphic Day Gecko, and more recently, Maxwell the Pig. Most people perceive the commercials as funny, but one particular ad with Maxwell the Pig has earned the wrath of a Mississippi website named "One Million Moms", run by conservative Christian group American Family Association (AFA). | New McLaren P1: Official Photos of Production Model Break Cover Posted: 25 Feb 2013 05:10 PM PST  We have no idea when McLaren was planning to share new images of its P1 hypercar, but nine photos showing the final production model have just hit the interwebs. How can we be sure that this is the production version and not the concept? Easy. Besides the new color, the P1 in these images features added carbon fiber air-vents on both corners of the front bumper, road tires and a tighter mesh for the rear end vent, all of which were announced by a McLaren spokesperson during a private showing in New York back in December. | BMW-Like Used Aston Martin Ad is Not Real [NSFW] Posted: 25 Feb 2013 08:25 AM PST  A few years back, a provocative BMW ad for its premium selection used cars (CPO) showing a beautiful young woman lying on a bed accompanied by the tag line "You know you're not the first" in one version, and "You know you're not the first. But do you really care?" in the other, made a splash online, though, it also triggered critical reactions from feminists. Now, a very similar ad for Aston Martin's used cars bearing the same exact tagline is making the rounds on Twitter feeds and Facebook, but we believe it's fake, for two basic reasons. Read more »   |
| Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Special Edition Gains the Ying to its Yang in Japan Posted: 25 Feb 2013 07:46 AM PST  Last summer, Mercedes-Benz treated Japanese customers with a special edition version of its C63 AMG sedan painted in a matte black color with red accents on the wheels, and a two-tone, red and black interior, along with a power upgrade. Apparently, the limited production edition was a success, as the German luxury brand has just announced a new version of the C63 AMG for Japan, only this time; it comes with a white body and red accents on the mirrors, brake calipers and boot lid spoiler plus a two-tone red and black leather interior (not the same as the previous version). | Alfa Romeo 4C Gets 236HP, First Image of the Interior Revealed Posted: 25 Feb 2013 04:49 AM PST  As the clock is ticking towards the March 5 opening of the 83rd Geneva Auto Show, Alfa Romeo released a new batch of images of its 4C coupe, among them the first official shot of the interior, and, finally, the engine's output. In its latest press release the Italian carmaker, which has already shown us the production version of the mid-engined sports car, announced that the 1,750 cc (1.75-liter) turbocharged aluminum four-cylinder mill that drives the rear wheels via a TCT dual-clutch gearbox puts out 236HP (240PS), confirming our earlier report.
