Posted: 16 Aug 2013 06:52 PM PDT

Remember the (older) lady who wanted to carve out her own drive-through, using her Tesla Model S as a luxurious leather-clad all-electric bulldozer to break one of the walls of her favorite restaurant? Well, now, another woman crashed her Model S, though this time, the circumstances were a bit different… Read more »

Ford is trying to make Lincoln a competitive luxury automaker and the new Black Label line is part of its plan to bring more kudos to the brand. VW Says Adieus to Brazilian-Made Kombi with Last Edition Model Priced at $35,600

Posted: 16 Aug 2013 02:59 PM PDT

One can list many interesting things about Volkswagen's Type 2 series of commercial and leisure vans and busses, but the most remarkable achievement is the fact that the Beetle-based model managed to remain in production for 63 years if you take into account the original T1 version (1950-1975).

In a sea of lookalike passenger and commercial vans, the two first iterations of the Type 2 Series (T1 and T2) continue to stand out as they did on the first day they came out. Granted, they might not be to everyone's tastes, but there's no way you'll confuse them with anything else on the road and that's a pretty amazing feat if you think about it.

The New Mercedes-Benz GLA in 53 HD Photos and Videos

Posted: 16 Aug 2013 01:52 PM PDT

I really don't get why Mercedes-Benz is pushing forth the idea that huge rear light clusters are the way to go when it comes to designing a compact car. They've done it with the A-Class and CLA, and now, by the looks of it from the first photos that have been revealed, the GLA crossover suffers from the same.

Even worse, its rear lights are quite round and shapeless, and even less successful than those of the two aforementioned models – oh, and yes, the long awaited small crossover from the Three Pointed Star has just been revealed, giving us free reign to comment on its funky and youthful design.

Driver Seems Genuinely Pissed Off at Californian Cops After Being Stopped Twice [NSFW]

Posted: 16 Aug 2013 01:18 PM PDT

No one likes being pulled over and handed a traffic ticket by the cops, but each person responds differently and always depending on the situation.

The featured driver in this clip was so aggravated after reportedly being stopped by Glendale, California, cops twice in a row that he almost blew a gasket, but fortunately, he refrained from trying anything stupid and just let his mouth go off (curse warning), while the police officers didn't let the situation get out of hand.

Tesla Wants to Discard Side Mirrors, Replace them with Cameras

Posted: 16 Aug 2013 12:46 PM PDT

The concept of replacing a car's side rear-view mirrors with cameras that feed into screens mounted inside is nothing new, but it's so far been considered too complicated and contrived of a solution to have any practical and feasible applications, and has thus been relegated to the realm of concepts for the most part.

However, since cameras nowadays are so small, it is seen as a viable way of reducing drag, and therefore boosting fuel economy.

New 2015 Honda Civic Type-R Scooped in the Flesh and Teased in Official Video

Posted: 16 Aug 2013 12:10 PM PDT

Quad exhaust tips; Check. Bloated fenders; Check. Big rear wing; Check. Grippy, low profile tires; Check. Brembo brakes; Check. As you can see, there's no question that this hotted up Honda prototype is indeed the upcoming Civic Type-R.

Our last encounter with the Honda's VW Golf GTI / R and Ford Focus ST challenger may have been kind of a letdown since the Japanese brand's engineers were merely testing the hot hatch's mechanicals on the body of a normal five-door Civic, but this time, we've snagged the actual car testing both on open road and on the Nürburgring. Interestingly, there was an older gen Ford Focus RS and a current Opel Astra OPC (Vauxhall Astra VXR) tagging along.

And if that's not enough, Honda itself just published a teaser video in which it announces that the Civic Type R is coming, without actually showing the car. "We hope you're just as excited about the new Civic Type R as we are, why not watch the teaser film and take the Quiz to get access to exclusive content from the Frankfurt Motor Show - including the full length film as soon as it's LIVE," reads Honda's release.

Saab to Reportedly Restart Production in September with Updated 9-3

Posted: 16 Aug 2013 11:40 AM PDT

Saab's tumultuous history may take a turn for the better, as local Swedish sources told Swedish news site Aftonbladet that the Trollhättan factory has already reopened its doors, with actual production restarting in September.

That's all well and good, but its new owners, National Electric Vehicle Swedenor NEVS, which is only Swedish by name, frankly, getting all of its capital from Asia, is also making the "Electric" part of their name irrelevant too, as it seems that the car they are putting back into production is the exact same 9-3 we're familiar with, powered by conventional internal combustion.

Russian Girls Strip Down to Promote Safe Driving [NSFW]

Posted: 16 Aug 2013 09:29 AM PDT

When everything else fails to grasp the attention of drivers, you can rest assured that a pair of girls (…what did you think we were going to say…) dressed in sexy lingerie and high heels will most certainly do the trick.

The two spicy women flashed their fleshly goods while holding speed limit signs high up into the air to Russian drivers travelling along the M7 highway in Nizhny Novgorod earlier this week to promote safe driving by adhering to legal speed limits.

Elmiraj Concept Is Cadillac’s Idea of a Big RWD Luxury Coupe, Hints at Top Sedan [w/Videos]

Posted: 16 Aug 2013 08:59 AM PDT

It's been a while since Cadillac last had a big coupe in its range, but now the automaker has decided to show us what such a car would look like if it were to be built. Called the Elmiraj Concept, the big coupe showcases "a new vision for luxury driving and the top of the brand's expanding range," according to Cadillac.

What this means is even if the Elmiraj doesn't end up being built, the design and ideas seen on this study will find their way on the brand's upcoming S-Class-rivaling flagship sedan. Measuring 5,207mm (205in) in length, the Elmiraj is a four-seat coupe seen as a successor to the 2011 Cadillac Ciel Concept in terms of design, luxury and performance.

The Elmiraj is built on the chassis and structural elements of the upcoming Cadillac flagship sedan, which will have a rear-wheel-drive architecture. The study is powered by a 4.5-liter twin turbocharged V8 engine delivering approximately 500 hp and which uses the same technology as the new Cadillac Twin Turbo V6 powering the 420hp 2014 CTS Vsport edition.

BMW M4 Coupe Breaks Cover as a Pre-Production Concept, Gets 3.0 Straight-Six Turbo

Posted: 16 Aug 2013 08:00 AM PDT

BMW lifted the veils of its brand-new M4 Coupe, the successor to the outgoing M3 Coupe, at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in California. In true BMW fashion, the car is presented as a concept, but it is very much production ready.

The Concept M4 Coupe is featured in a special color called "Aurum Dust", exclusively developed for this model, and an aggressive bodykit worthy of an M vehicle. Although similar to the one seen on the 4-Series M Performance, the aero kit is a bit more aggressive, featuring large air inlets in the front bumper, a more "exaggerated" bonnet, bigger side sills on the front fenders and a different layout of the rear bumper including four exhaust pipes.
