"Samir, Please" is Probably the Funniest Rally Video Ever

Posted: 19 Aug 2013 04:49 PM PDT

Being a rally co-driver is in my view one of the scariest jobs on the planet: you have no control whatsoever on a car that's being driven at insane speeds on narrow, winding roads; you sit so low inside that you don't see much through the windows and you're likely to experience the worst part of an impact as it is proven that drivers instinctively protect themselves by directing the other side of the car into obstacles in the event of a crash.

However, the job becomes infinitely more dangerous when the person doing the driving is, let's just say, incompetent behind the wheel...

Spied: New Mercedes GLA 45 AMG Blurs the Line Between Hot Hatches and Crossovers

Posted: 19 Aug 2013 03:53 PM PDT

Expansion into as many niches as possible is the key word for Mercedes-Benz these days, even if that means blurring the lines for consumers… We say that because how else can you describe the relationship between the upcoming GLA 45 AMG that our spies photographed testing on the Nürburgring and the current A45 AMG hatchback?

For all intents and purposes, the newly revealed GLA is a slightly longer (by 125mm or 4.92 inches), rougher looking A-Class hatch on stilts.

Ford Shows Ranger-Based Everest SUV Concept in Australia, May Go on Sale in 2015

Posted: 19 Aug 2013 03:23 PM PDT

The Blue Oval's ailing Australian arm revealed a pre-production study previewing the third-generation of the Everest midsize SUV, which in its current form, is produced in Thailand and sold in Southeast Asia and India.

Created by Ford's design and product development team in Australia, the Everest study will share its underpinnings with the Ranger pickup truck when it goes into production in 2015, but will not act as a direct replacement for the Territory, since Ford says the Everest will be a "true off-roader". The Territory will be discontinued in 2016 along with the Falcon sedan upon which it is based.

Scoop: Hyundai Trots Out New Generation Sonata Sedan

Posted: 19 Aug 2013 02:09 PM PDT

When Hyundai introduced the current, sixth generation Sonata YF with its swoopy (many would say, Mercedes-Benz CLS-inspired) styling in the fall of 2009, it turned a page on many levels, especially in the design department, abandoning its ultra conservative take on the mid-size segment, aiming directly at the top offerings. The gamble paid off with the Sonata surpassing the 200,000 sales mark in North America.

Four years later, the South Korean company is readying a replacement for the successful mid-size sedan, which could arrive as early as 2014, according to the company's product plan.

Holy Sh*t! Moment for Motorcyclist when Audi Takes a Turn Like a Boat

Posted: 19 Aug 2013 11:32 AM PDT

The unexpected is one of the greatest fears among motorcyclists and a major cause of accidents, especially when one doesn't keep his or her cool behind the handle bars.

This incident could have gone so wrong in so many ways that it's actually a miracle that no one appears to be hurt (we don't see what happened behind the bike). The rider was cruising along at what looks to be normal speed on his lane on a mountain road when all of a sudden, a speeding Audi comes out of the corner and enters the opposite lane!

New 2015 Ford Mustang Coupe Renders

Posted: 19 Aug 2013 10:30 AM PDT

We still have several months left to cross the final corner of the sprint and head to the finish line that is the world premiere of the all-new, sixth generation Ford Mustang in April, 2014, on the 50th birthday of the series. That means there's plenty of time for speculation, especially of the drawing kind.

These fresh renderings of the new Mustang were commissioned by the folks running the Mustang6G forums and made by an old acquaintance of ours, Dutch photoshop artist Wildspeed.

Jay Leno Shows Off the Latest And Greatest Porsche 356, a 1963 Carrera 2

Posted: 19 Aug 2013 10:00 AM PDT

The Porsche 356 started out with a really small VW Beetle-derived engine in the early 1950s, which was kept and improved over the years, and the car finally began gaining some performance from it in its later years.

However, for racing, Porsche decided that they didn't want to use the same engine, and so they made one of their own, a twin-cam two-liter unit which put out around 130 hp - it had four cams in total, and is usually referred to as the "four-cam."

Mercedes-Benz's Posh 2014 S63 AMG Priced from £119,565 in Britain

Posted: 19 Aug 2013 09:32 AM PDT

A nicely sculpted and luxurious German sport sedan with a 577hp (585PS) and 900Nm (663 lb-ft) twin-turbocharged V8, all the latest tech and safety-related goodies that the industry has to offer and more than enough space for four passengers and their luggage; what else could a family man want?

Well, perhaps some additional practicality and certainly a lower price tag because with a starting on-the-road (OTR) price of £119,565 (equal to US$187,800 / €140,700), (unfortunately) the new S63 AMG sports saloon is beyond the reach of most buyers.

New Grand Theft Auto V Multiplayer Trailer, or Why You'll be Stuck at Home...

Posted: 19 Aug 2013 08:10 AM PDT

The main idea behind the Grand Theft Auto (GTA) franchise has always been to suck the player into what looks like a living, breathing world, full of things to do and believable characters to interact with.

The formula has evolved dramatically from the top-down perspective of the first two games (which were great in their own right, back in the day) and the latest installment promises to be one of the most diversified gaming experiences you'll ever have.

We've seen many examples of aggressive driving and road rage-induced behavior getting out of hand, but this video shows us why it's always best to use your wits and not violence when confronted with these kind of situations.

The dash-cam footage shows a driver (evidently in North America, and possibly in Canada, but we're not 100 percent certain – leave us a comment below if you know where it took place), passing a black Hummer SUV. The move did not sit well with the Hummer motorist who was immediately struck by a heavy dose of road rage…
