Racy Girl Takes an…Ahem…NSFW Ride in a Rally Car

Posted: 23 Aug 2013 04:33 PM PDT

Last May, we wondered what will YouTube channel owners and let's not forget, Google AdSense affiliates (…), think of next when it comes to showing off pretty girls in fast cars after the crew from 1320Video had a lightly dressed blonde lady strapped in the seat of a twin-turbo Lamborghini trying to grab a 100 bill during acceleration. Secret Semi-Official Holden Monaro VF Surfaces Online

Posted: 23 Aug 2013 04:06 PM PDT

The 2001 Holden Monaro V8 coupe was probably one of the best Australian cars of recent memory, and it found fans not only in its home market, but also in the US and UK, where it was sold as Pontiac and Vauxhall respectively. Sadly, in the current economic climate and packed state of the GM rage, particularly in the US, it would not be particularly lucrative to create another one, based on the new Commodore. Read more »

Velvet Ferrari 599 GTB Looks Even Worse When It Rains

Posted: 23 Aug 2013 02:58 PM PDT

You probably know by now the velvet-wrapped Ferrari 599 GTB – or the Furarri as some call it - but did you stop for a second and think about how "practical" the unusual wrap is?

Well, I didn't either, but when the following video surfaced I realized the velvet wrap is not only a clear case of bad taste, but that it also comes with a series of practical shortcomings.

Ferrari Says No to EVs, But Yes to More Hybrids

Posted: 23 Aug 2013 02:05 PM PDT

Ferrari is one of the most image-conscious automakers out there - there really are few others, if any, that would actually cut production to preserve the value and exclusivity of their cars. For this reason, it is harder for the Italians to simply give up using big V12s and try something else, than it is for Jaguar or any other slightly less exclusive brand. Read more »

New 2014 Mazda3 Gets Positive Nod from Consumer Reports

Posted: 23 Aug 2013 01:35 PM PDT

The Mazda3 seems like a smaller version of the very stylish Mazda6, and in sedan form, its rear is even more successful and better proportioned, I think. It's not only nice design that makes the 3 an interesting choice, but also its decent efficiency and the fun-to-drive factor which is mostly absent among its rivals bar the Ford Focus, though even that is not as fun around the twisties as the previous-gen. Spied: This Jaguar F-Type Coupe Might be the High-Performance 'R' Model

Posted: 23 Aug 2013 11:34 AM PDT

While taking high-resolution shots of a Jaguar F-Type V8 prototype running around on the Nürburgring, our spies noticed something that couldn't be seen on the same test car filmed by Carscoops' reader Timo back in July on the same track: the huge carbon ceramic brakes with the yellow calipers and cross-drilled brake rotors, which look awfully similar to the ones fitted on the limited edition XKR-S GT. New City-Bound EV from Korea Folds In Half for Parking

Posted: 23 Aug 2013 11:12 AM PDT

Parking is a major problem for all who live in or close to large cities. One way to try to get around this is to make cars smaller, though, this compromises their interior space, handling and safety characteristics to a certain degree. Another way, which has been tried before, is to have folding cars that make themselves smaller so as to use as little space as possible when not in use. Read more »

Lady Walks Across Highway Causing Multiple Crashes, Drivers Want Help to Identify Her

Posted: 23 Aug 2013 10:52 AM PDT

It's amazing, or rather scratch that and replace it with terrifying, how little common sense some people have these days. Senseless is the only word that comes to mind after watching this lady slowly walk –not even run- across a busy freeway in the Zhongshan district of China.

In the dash-cam video provided from one of her victims, we see a passenger van stopping in front of her as she calmly walks on the road. Unfortunately, the other drivers were caught by surprise and ended up crashing into each other.

Spied: New BMW X4 Takes a Ride on Public Roads

Posted: 23 Aug 2013 09:04 AM PDT

If not always, most of the times, BMW's mainstream concepts are nothing more than lightly disguised versions of the actual production cars that will soon adorn the Bavarian brand's store floors. That holds true for the 4-Series Coupe, M4 Coupe and in this case, the X4 study as well. Read more »

Our mystery car segment has a new participant in the form of this purportedly fresh creation of which we first heard about from Carscoops reader Jacob J. who told us the following:

"This picture has been popping up on car forums during the last 24 hours. It's obviously shopped but then Wallpaper* tweeted this: 'A surprising makeover from this car brand. We got an early glimpse of their latest offering. What do you think?' It appears that it's some sort of concept from a known manufacturer but I can't figure out what it is".

If you want to build cars – or anything else, for that matter, in China, there are two basic requirements: a) you need a joint venture with a local partner and b) receive approval from the Chinese government.

Volvo is already owned by a Chinese company, and in particular, Geely Automobile Holdings Ltd., so all it needed to build vehicles in China was clearance from government authorities.
