New Monza Concept is Opel's Idea of a Coupe with Wings for Doors

Posted: 20 Aug 2013 12:57 PM PDT

The phrase, "My, oh my, what big doors you have" was the first thing that came to mind upon taking a look at these official photos of the all-new Opel (Vauxhall) Monza Concept that were spilled on the internet ahead of the car's world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

We can't say that the new Monza qualifies as a coupe as its body looks more akin to a sleek, sports station wagon, while the gullwing-style doors are truly enormous, essentially taking up the same surface are as two doors on either side.

We're still waiting for the full details from Opel, but the German automaker previously said that the Monza study expresses the brand's "future in pure form", or in other words, it previews new design elements for its production cars.

Proud Owner Shows Off KITT Doppelganger which he Zealously Created

Posted: 20 Aug 2013 11:22 AM PDT

Movie car replicas vary greatly in their quality, and sadly most who take on the endeavor of actually trying to convert an existing car into their boyhood dream end up with a half-ass attempt that is not really worthy to show off. We've seen so many of those, that we're thankful for the few people out there that are dedicated and passionate enough to do a thorough job. Read more »

Ferrari Reveals More Hardcore 458 Dubbed Speciale With 597HP

Posted: 20 Aug 2013 08:45 AM PDT

For most, a standard Ferrari 458 Italia will be more supercar than they'll ever need, with a screaming 4.5-liter V8 engine, lightweight (mostly) carbon and aluminum construction and enough buttons on the steering wheel to make their use a bit of a chore.

However, as is tradition, it really needed a more special version, which would get many tweaks to make it even faster and more distinctive, and whereas the more hardcore version of the 430 was called the Scuderia, Ferrari didn't really bother with picking a name for this hotter 458 and just called it the "Speciale." It seems that they chose not to go with the originally-speculated name, "Monte Carlo."

2014 Range Rover Evoque Mildly Refreshed, Gains 9sp Gearbox and New Tech

Posted: 20 Aug 2013 07:07 AM PDT

The creation of the Range Rover Evoque was a really smart move by Land Rover, and now there's hardly a posh café without one parked outside – with 170,000 of them sold in just 18 months, it figures.

Its concept-like styling, sumptuous interior and decent driving dynamics really set it apart in its niche, and now it has been made even more appealing courtesy of several "exterior and interior design enhancements, plus new alloy wheel designs," as well as an efficiency-boosting nine-speed automatic transmission and other novel features.
