What we have to share with you now is fresh information along with high-resolution photographs and videos on the series following the official release of the car in Europe and Japan. Talking about Mazda's home market, the automaker confirmed plans to release a sedan version of the new "3" sporting a hybrid electric powertrain in Japan. For starters, there's the all-wheel-drive Mercedes A45 AMG powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder unit developing 355 horsepower (360PS). Then there's the rear-wheel-drive BMW M135i powered by a turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-six engine that churns out 316 hp (320PS). Finally, the most curious choice of the test is the VW Golf GTI Performance, a front-wheel-drive 227hp (230PS) car powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. Read more »    |

We have the proof right here - a white 959 that has surfaced for sail in Italy. Since Geely bought Volvo, we have become used to the idea of foreign ownership of an old European manufacturer. | Next Porsche Panamera to Share Platform with the Future Bentley Continental Posted: 26 Jun 2013 12:08 PM PDT  When the second-generation Porsche Panamera launches sometime by mid-decade it will use a common platform with the third-generation Bentley Continental family. According to a report from Edmunds, the 2016 Porsche Panamera will use a special version of VW Group's front-engine rear-wheel-drive MSB body architecture. The next-generation Panamera, which is expected to be largely influenced by the Panamera Sport Turismo Concept (pictured above and below) that was revealed last year at the Paris auto show, will keep the current car's layout. Now there's a new one, which has the same basic concept as its predecessor, yet wrapping it all up in a quirkily-styled package, with a much cleaner and simpler-looking interior than before, and the same basic range of proven engines. | 2014 Mazda3 Hatch: The Official Details on the U.S. Specification Model Posted: 26 Jun 2013 10:40 AM PDT  Despite the leaked images earlier today, Mazda hasn't officially released the new "3" on its press website yet, but much in the same way as Mercedes did with the SLC AMG scoop shots, it has provided the official release to its media-partners (that doesn't sound right, and it's not…) like Autoblog.com. Since we've already seen what the compact hatchback looks like inside and out with this author's opinion being a very positive one based on the images alone (I'll wait for a real life look at the car for the final judgment), we'll concentrate on the details and especially the ones for the U.S. specification model referenced in the press release. Designed exclusively for customers in China, Honda's press blurb states that the Crider targets "those who were born in 1980s, known for the energetic pursuit of their dreams". Whereas last year's Crider Concept not only captured our attention but also managed to impress us if you exclude the overly detailed front end, the real-life model is simply put, a mundane exercise on the Civic formula with a rather awkward looking profile – at least with these wheels and nose. One could say the Bentley Mulsanne is up there too, but I for one (and RR too), see it more as competitor for the Ghost than the monumental Phantom. However, it looks like the Phantom will soon have competition, since the all-new Mercedes-Benz S-Class will spawn a Pullman model that will act as the flagship of the brand. | All-New 2014 Mazda3 Leaks Ahead of Official Reveal in All Its Kodo Design Glory Posted: 26 Jun 2013 06:02 AM PDT  The all-new Mazda3 has been leaked online by the Czech website Autoforum, with the photo gallery also containing technical data charts of the new Japanese compact car. As Carscoop's artist Josh Byrnes predicted, the Mazda3 builds on the Kodo design theme from the Mazda6, with the two cars sharing many design elements such as the flowing curved lines above the front and rear fenders, the harmonious combination between the grille and the sharp headlights and the plunged bonnet. On the inside, the Mazda3 features an all-new minimalistic dashboard that reminds a little of the one from the Audi A3, due to the layout and the pop-up touchscreen. It looks like an ergonomic dashboard, with the controls being clearly delimitated.
