Posted: 04 Jun 2013 04:55 PM PDT

When our spies caught up with a slightly modded version of the sold-out Audi R8 GT testing on the Nürburgring last year, we were wondering what Ingolstadt was up to, since it had already introduced the facelifted R8 family.

Now, with these latest spy shots, we can partially provide an answer to that question as a camouflage-free R8 GT prototype made its appearance on the German track again, only this time, it's based on the updated R8 with the new LED front and rear lights, while also doing away with the vented hood.

Over the past few years, China's car market has grown and matured to the point that it makes sense for foreign automakers to design and develop more bespoke models tailored to the needs of local buyers.

Even Hyundai has jumped on the bandwagon and is now preparing a China-exclusive mid-sized family sedan that was previewed as a very thinly disguised concept car named the Mistra at the recent Shanghai Auto Show 2013.

Drive Asks If a Sleeper Audi S4 Avant is a Better Car than a Slower Porsche Cayman

Posted: 04 Jun 2013 12:25 PM PDT

Chris Harris proved that it is a worthwhile effort to spend a few bucks on an engine remap, especially if the car in question is an Audi S4, powered by a supercharged V6 engine.

Now, featured for the first time on Tuned, alongside usual host Matt Farah, Harris hands over the keys to his German estate over to the much larger built American, while he plays catch-up in a Porsche Cayman, which is not the S, and it is bashed for being too slow.

Chrysler Group Rejects NHTSA's Recall Request for Jeep Models – Who Would You Trust?

Posted: 04 Jun 2013 11:36 AM PDT

Most of the times, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and automakers work together and agree upon a recall when there's a problem or at least the potential for an issue with a car, but it isn't always like this.

Recently, the NHTSA issued a recommendation for the recall of around 2.7 million Jeep SUVs, including the 1993-2004 model-year Grand Cherokee and 2002-2007 Liberty, after assessing that the fuel tanks in these models pose an unreasonable risk to motor vehicle safety in rear-impact collisions.

After seven years of production and almost 210,000 units sold, the Volvo C30 has reached the end of the road. Launched in 2006, the C30 hatchback sported an daring design that made it instantly recognizable in its class and beyond.

Tablet sales may be soaring nowadays, but when it comes to playing games or working, you still can't beat a good 'ol PC (personal or desk computer) combined with one or more large screens.

While most mainstream computer manufacturers and even boutique assemblers opt for lackluster cases that look no more interesting than the cardboard boxes they are delivered in, some companies try to push the design envelope creating pieces of art. The BMW Group's DesignworksUSA is one such example.

Just like the Fiat 500L MPV, the Panda XL won't have much in common with the Panda city car except the name. However, the crossover is expected to borrow some design cues from the boxy small car.
