Banned Driver Rams Brand-New BMW X5 Police Patroller on its Maiden Voyage

Posted: 25 Jul 2013 03:15 PM PDT

Running away from the cops may seem like the best option when adrenaline and fear are surging through your body, but at the end of the day, it not only doesn't solve anything, but it will surely make things worse.

Take the case of Chad Harrison, for example, who went from simply driving a truck while disqualified to failing to stop for police, and crashing into a total of eight vehicles, including a literally brand new BMW X5 patrol car with just 400 miles (644 kilometers) on the odometer!

Posted: 25 Jul 2013 02:36 PM PDT

Rumors regarding the possible transformation of the next Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution into a hybrid are not new, yet what Autocar has just reported does seem to be fresh. The British publication says that not only will the car gets part of its power from electric motors, but also that there will be plenty of it to go around, and have thrown out a possible value of 500 horses.

They argue that this would put it up against the Nissan GT-R, as well as an entire new set of faster rivals, and make room for more models to sit underneath it in the range.

Posted: 25 Jul 2013 01:33 PM PDT

It must have been really challenging for a 38 year-old man from Adelaide, Australia, to keep driving his car, as it had no steering wheel to speak of, two flat tires and all while he was high on drugs.

Australian cops pulled him over as he was suspected of having been involved in a hit-and-run incident minutes earlier, yet the discovery of a pair of pliers/vice grips fastened around the steering spindle took center stage…

Chris Harris Drives the BMW 435i, Has Mixed Feelings About It

Posted: 25 Jul 2013 01:28 PM PDT

There are quite a few things that Chris Harris doesn't like about the new BMW 4-Series Coupe, beginning with the name. In his view, renaming the 3-Series Coupe is a big mistake, much like Coca-Cola trying to dump the well-established name for something like a "Vegetable Bum Water"- his words, not ours.

Besides that, the BMW 435i Coupe Harris drove is described as ordinary looking and too accomplished for its own good, with the word "boring" coming up once.

Twin-Engined, All-Wheel Drive Citroen 2CV Sahara for Sale in Boring, Oregon

Posted: 25 Jul 2013 12:32 PM PDT

As everybody knows I'm sure, the Citroen 2CV was a low-powered pod specifically designed to carry low-wealth French country folk around in comfort and relative safety, as well as keep them dry – it was apparently called "an umbrella on four wheels."

Because of the rutted nature of roads in its native parts, around the time of its conception, the 2CV has soft suspension, no body control at all in corners, plus, and this is its party piece, lots of wheel travel. That's one of the reasons why it actually did well in rallies – it could absorb the bumps at speed and just keep on moving (not quickly…but moving nonetheless).

Along with airplanes, trains are considered among the best and safest means of transportation over long distances, but that in no way means that they are accident-free, as proved by Spain's worst rail crash in decades that took place just outside the pilgrimage center of Santiago de Compostela on Wednesday night. In a way, Acura's handling of the presentation of the next generation NSX (to be badged as a Honda in certain regions where Acura is absent), reminds us of the excruciatingly long wait for GM's fifth generation Chevrolet Camaro and Volt back in the late 2000s, when we all had reached a point of saying "be done with it…". Posted: 25 Jul 2013 08:33 AM PDT

Not only is the new Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake a looker and to some extent, practical, but in CLS 63 AMG guise, it's lightning fast as well with the pre-2014MY model's 5.5-liter bi-turbocharged V8 churning out 518hp (525PS) on the standard version and 550hp (557PS) when equipped with the Performance Package.

Still, that wasn't satisfactory enough for the tuning crew at Vath who have come out with a comprehensive suite of upgrades improving the car's performance, while also adding a dab of styling individuality to the mix.
