If there's one car that can excel in straight line racing right off the bat, it's the fabled Nissan GT-R. Even in pure stock form, it sprints through the quarter mile in the 10-second range, so you can imagine what some selective tuning can do.

In fact, you don't have to use your imagination at all. Across the pond, Exelixis Motorsports, a tuning company based in Romania that was founded by the pairing of some capable Romanian and Greek techs, is claiming to have created the fastest GT-R in Europe.

Up until now, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) rated a car's safety credentials based on the usual, familiar crash tests, as well as the number and complexity of the electronic safety systems it had fitted.

Front crash prevention or mitigation setups were, of course, taken into consideration, but the Institute only checked whether or not a car came with these, and not how effective they were.

Nissan Reveals More Luxurious Navara SV Flagship Model

Nissan has added some premium features to the European market Navara pickup that enhance comfort and make it look a drop more premium.

Based on the range topping LE trim level, the SV (special version) adds Alcantara and leather trim on the interior, with the center part of the seats covered in Alcantara and featuring an embossed Nissan logo, while the side bolsters, headrests, armrest, gearshift and handbrake surrounds and door inserts are all covered in double-stitched leather.

Porsche Insider Allegedly Leaks Product Plan Slides

A set of slides with Porsche's upcoming projects, reportedly sourced from an internal dealer meeting that took place in Atlanta, Georgia, this month, were leaked onto Jalopnik today.

We have not yet independently confirmed their authenticity, but everything revealed in the slides sounds and looks reasonable, though, the appearance of an Autobild magazine render of the Macan, does raise some questions.

Citroën Begins Production of DS5 in China, Wild Rubis to Follow

Today's China represents a new Eldorado for near or pure luxury car brands, with PSA Peugeot Citroën being one of many automotive groups looking to slice off another piece of the pie. With Peugeot and Citroen already established in China's mainstream market, the French launched Citroen's DS marque as a standalone brand in the premium segments.

Now, 15 months after the launch of the DS brand in China with a fresh line of cars, the company and its Chinese partner Changan kicked off local production of its biggest model to date, the DS5, at their Shenzhen plant.
