Audi to Rely on SUVs to Become World's Top Luxury Automaker

Posted: 13 Mar 2013 05:51 AM PDT

The three premium German automakers used to be famous around the world for their fast, well-built and luxurious saloon cars, but in recent years, that perception has been considerably altered by the addition of SUVs. Audi is very keen to expand its line of Q-badged vehicles, which is currently three models-strong (Q3, Q5 and Q7). Read more »

Turn Your Brilliance into a BMW and Your BYD Into a Lexus for as Low As $63 with Chinese Kits

Posted: 12 Mar 2013 07:03 PM PDT

Chinese carmakers cloning parts or even entire vehicles from Western companies, is nothing new or surprising, though, we will admit to raising an eyebrow when we saw joint-venture partners of European brands blatantly copying their business companion's designs, as was the case with Brilliance and the very BMW X1-like V5 SUV, and BAIC's call-me-maybe Mercedes-Benz B-Class lookalike, the "BC301Z".

Taking advantage of lax copyright laws and a system that turns a blind eye as long as these companies keep up appearances (pun intended) by avoiding the use of names and logos on their vehicles, many Chinese carmakers have managed to get away with it.

Consumer Reports Names Best and Worst Used Cars up to $25k

Posted: 12 Mar 2013 04:48 PM PDT

When it comes to choosing a used car, actual owners of the model you're interested in, offer the most unbiased reviews. That is, of course, when they're not trying to sell you their own car… As you probably already know, Consumer Reports (CR) not only tests cars, but it also asks its almost 1 million subscribers each year how their vehicles are doing through its Annual Auto Survey.

While CR's reviews may offer first-hand details on certain qualities and faults of new vehicles, usually long-term ownership reveals how good a car is. This is why the publication compiled a Best & Worst Used Cars list for model years 2003 through 2012.

Facelifted 2014 Hyundai Centennial aka Equus Stars in New Videos

Posted: 12 Mar 2013 04:19 PM PDT

Hyundai has released a new trio of videos of its updated Centennial, which is just another name for the Equus luxury sedan that will make its U.S. debut in facelifted form at this month's New York Auto Show.

We'll have to wait for specific details for the North American model, but we suspect it will benefit from the same design and technological upgrades as the already available Korean version – also named Equus (the Centennial moniker is used in the Middle East).

Posted: 12 Mar 2013 03:59 PM PDT

The current Lincoln Navigator is one of the many choices available to those looking for a full-sized SUV. What do You Think of a BMW M3 Touring Model?

Posted: 12 Mar 2013 02:31 PM PDT

Ever wonder what BMW's latest 3-Series Touring model would look like in M3 guise? Well, the lads from Bimmerpost did and they called in Photoshop renderer "Wild Speed" to turn their thoughts into images.

The M3 started out as a coupe and morphed into a soft-top convertible in its first iteration (E30), and later on, as a sedan as well (E36 and E90), but it has never been offered in a Touring guise – and from the looks of it, we won't be seeing an estate body style of the M model any time soon.

The Ford Focus ST, which is currently Europe's bestselling hot hatch (partially thanks to the fact that VW has yet to launch the new GTI), is a car that can really be modified to your heart's desire. While the standard power output is sufficient for most owners, that's not to say the 2.0-liter EcoBoost hasn't more to give. Read more »

We could be mistaken, but we're going to guess the answer to this theoretical question is a lot of things that have to do with speed and which, would no doubt, get you in deep trouble, but that's not why we're sharing this video – though, feel free to entertain us with your answers below, if you feel like it.

The European automotive industry is currently at an all-time low, in terms of both production and sales, and it seems that no matter what the major automakers try, it still ends up just being a case of laying people off, canceling models and closing factories. Still, the PSA group from France has announced a radical rethink of how it markets and sells its cars. Read more »

While soccer players are paid millions for their excellent kicking capabilities, in Russia these skills seem to serve a different purpose altogether. Sure, we've seen extreme examples of road rage, but this has to be among the top ranking videos in that category.

The driver of the vehicle with the dash-mounted camera stops just ahead of a narrow street with room for one vehicle at a time. However, the scene that follows is almost unbelievable.

However, Top Gear USA host Tanner Foust isn't one of those people - and he didn't just think about it, he actually did it. The stunt and rally driver came up with the idea of driving a performance pickup truck, the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor, on the world's most frightening racetrack, the one that drivers affectionately call "The Green Hell."
