Future Cars: 2015 Mazda3 Hatchback Goes Kodo Posted: 18 Mar 2013 06:06 PM PDT In 2004, the Mazda3's arrival on the compact car scene was a huge breath of fresh air; equipped with competent handling, performance and standout styling, it made a striking point of difference compared to its competitors and the mundane Protegé/323 that it replaced. Even in comparison to the European Ford Focus that shares its platform, the Mazda3 in my eyes set a design benchmark that still looks fresh today. Read more » |
Devilish Son Cons Dealership by Using Blind Father and Elderly Mother to Buy SUV Posted: 18 Mar 2013 04:59 PM PDT It is crazy to think what lengths some people will go to, in order to get what they want. In fact, it's not crazy, it's actually scary. Take this story, for example, that unfolded in Kenosha, Wisconsin, where a man used the signatures of his parents to buy a new GMC SUV, despite the fact that his mother was suffering from dementia, his father was blind and they didn't really have enough money to afford the vehicle… Read more » |

SRT Bites Back with New 2014 SRT Viper TA, Beats ZR1's Lap Time in MT Test [w/Video] Posted: 18 Mar 2013 04:13 PM PDT Just when we thought that, Chrysler was done for the time being with its flagship SRT Viper sports car, the Pentastar surprised us today with the release of a new special edition model named the TA, for "Time Attack", of which only 33 units will be built, solely in a Crusher Orange shade, beginning in third quarter of 2013. We don't know if SRT's New York Auto Show-bound 2014 Viper TA model was created in response to the Viper GTS' fallout during a comparison test with the soon-to-be replaced Corvette ZR1 by Motor Trend magazine, but SRT boss Ralph Gilles was more than unhappy with the results. Maserati Quattroporte S Q4 Looks Grippy in New Promo – Sounds Good Too Posted: 18 Mar 2013 03:27 PM PDT When we first heard that the sleek new Maserati Quattroporte was getting a base V6 engine, whereas the previous generation car only had a beefy V8, we shook our head in disagreement. However, when the words twin turbo and all-wheel drive are added into the mix, along with a respectable 404hp (410 PS), we became considerably more interested. Read more » |

Watch an Audi SUV Run Into a Ditch Posted: 18 Mar 2013 02:06 PM PDT Without having additional views or info, we cannot be certain who is to blame in this accident that ended with an Audi Q7 (or so we think it's a Q7, but we wouldn't be surprised if turns out to be a Q5 – oh, Audi and your one-style-for-all-sizes strategy…) driving into and out of a ditch on the side of the road. First Reported Crash of New Jaguar F-Type Roadster Occurs During Magazine Test Posted: 18 Mar 2013 01:30 PM PDT Behold, the first accident involving Jaguar's all-new F-Type roadster, which won't become available to the general public until later this year. Putting aside the photo from the crash, the rest of the information we have about the incident is limited and comes from Motoramic and the British PistonHeads forum, which say that it happened during a comparison test between the Jaguar F-Type and two other (unidentified) cars, when the journalist in the roadster somehow targeted the stonewall. Top Gear Special Explodes Number of Searches for Used Subaru WRX Wagons Posted: 18 Mar 2013 12:05 PM PDT The last two Top Gear episodes, which formed a two-part special, in which each of the presenters chose an estate model in order to search Africa for the real source of the mighty river Nile. As usual, the cars they were constrained to drive were not the most suitable for the rutted and broken roads they would eventually have to negotiate. However, this time Richard actually made a great choice by bringing along a Subaru WRX wagon/estate, which was easily the driving force of the whole expedition. Read more » |

See What Happens When a "Black Power Ranger" Gets Pulled Over by the Cops Posted: 18 Mar 2013 10:03 AM PDT It's one of those scenes when you don't know whether you're dreaming or what you see in front of your eyes is really happening. What looks like a routine traffic stop turns surreal when the driver gets out of his Honda Civic hatchback wearing…a Power Rangers costume. Read more » |
Formula 1: Australian Grand Prix Race Report Posted: 18 Mar 2013 09:31 AM PDT When the red lights went out on Sunday, March 17, at Australia's Albert Park circuit they marked the start of the 2013 Formula 1 season. Given that rules were mostly unchanged compared to last year, the status quo in teams' performance was unlikely to be upset. It certainly looked that way at first, with triple world champion Sebastian Vettel and his Red Bull leading the race. But it wasn't a walk in the park for the reigning champ; far from it as strategy played a great role in the outcome of the Australian F1 Grand Prix. Read more » |

Like many other carmakers, the Japanese company won't share much about its new model until the auto show kicks off on March 29 (for the press). In fact, besides an image of the "Odyssey" logo made out of cereal […], the only other piece of information we get about the refreshed people carrier is that it will include "some innovative new features". Chevy Volt and Cadillac ELR May Get Three-Cylinder Engine in 2015 Posted: 18 Mar 2013 07:18 AM PDT The Chevrolet Volt, and its clever range-extender plug-in hybrid system marked a turning point in the way GM viewed green cars, and while the American giant may have tested the market in the past, it is the first of its kind to actually make an impact. However, one can't help but wonder if the 1.4-liter petrol engine used to recharge the battery was chosen for its efficiency credentials, or due to cost constraints - the Volt is quite expensive, as it is.
